| has gloss | eng: Scrofula (scrophula or struma) is any of a variety of skin diseases; in particular, a form of tuberculosis, affecting the lymph nodes of the neck. Früher wurde die Krankheit mit der Tuberkulose in Zusammenhang gebracht, neuerdings vermutet man jedoch eher eine Allergie als Ursache. Die befallenen Kinder weisen vielfältige chronische Entzündungen - zum Beispiel der Nasenschleimhaut, der Augenlider, der Bindehaut sowie der Halslymphknoten - und nicht selten eine rüsselförmige Lippenvorwölbung auf. |
